Get ready everyone because the Dubai Opera is all set to open on August 31st! And it is not a regular opening; a total of 49 performances from famous artists will grace the occasion.

The honour of performing at the Dubai Opera first will go to Legendary Spanish tenor Placido Domingo. Added to Mr. Domingo, Grammy Award winner for sitar, Ms. Anoushka Shankar and Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassimi will enthrall us with their musical talents.

For those of you who are in the dark about the Dubai Opera, it is a beautiful performing arts theater that is all set to open at the end of this year, according to an announcement by Emaar Properties. The Dubai Opera overlooks the Burj Lake, the Burj Khalifa, and the Dubai Fountain.

Inspired by the cultural heritage of Dubai, the design of the Dubai Opera is inspired by the dhow boats that Dubai is so famous for. The structure has a proscenium arch theater, an acoustic concert hall, and an event space that stretches to 2000 square meters. The Dubai Opera will be the destination to go to for all things art, which includes ballet, operas, musicals, concerts, family entertainment, classical performances, and so on.

In the words of the Chairman of Emaar Properties, Mohamed Alabbar, ”Dubai Opera is our tribute to our city and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to establish Dubai as a seat of arts, culture, performing arts and world-class events. An architectural masterpiece, it draws design inspiration from our own heritage, while the focus on bringing exclusive and accomplished performing arts places it on the league of the world’s finest theaters.”

The Dubai Opera has an all-glass foyer that add to its already beautiful architecture. It is the city’s first theater for all things art and is expected to draw in crowds of performing arts enthusiasts from Dubai and all over the world.
