The final original Avenger makes a comeback. Thor is the only remaining member of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes who hasn’t been seen since Avengers: Endgame, but that will change this summer when Thor: Love and Thunder hit theatres.
Moreover, Thor has achieved something that neither Iron Man nor Steve Rogers has. In Avengers: Endgame, we last saw Thor saving the cosmos from annihilation before flying out into space with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Thor: Love and Thunder, his upcoming film, is the newest episode in the Thor saga and will feature a number of familiar and new Marvel characters.
Release Date of THOR: Love and Thunder
The film was set to be released on November 5th, 2021, when it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in the year 2019. After all, the pandemic forced Marvel to postpone its whole plan, and Thor 4 will now be released on July 8, 2022. It was originally scheduled for May, but Disney chose to postpone all of their Marvel films.
In ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ Who Is Returning?
Along with Hemsworth, Portman, Thompson, and Waititi, the film will feature Pratt, Gillan, Bautista, and Klementieff, all of whom have previously appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy films. Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth will reprise their cameo roles as performers playing Loki and Thor, etc, in an Asgardian theatre troupe, in which Jaimie Alexander will repeat her part as Lady Sif. In a play, Sam Neil will reprise his role as Odin.
Where can you see the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder?
Marvel released the official trailer on May 23 after releasing a teaser video in April. It features Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe as Zeus in their MCU debuts.
The cast of Thor: Love and Thunder
Melissa McCarthy will play Hela, a thespian in the action picture. Cate Blanchett played the actual Hela in Thor: Ragnarok, although the villain perished in the 2017 film when Asgard (Thor’s homeworld) was destroyed.
Russell Crowe has confirmed that he will make his return as Zeus in the sequel, while Bale will play the god-killing tyrant. McCarthy’s husband, Ben Falcone, was recently spotted filming with his wife, and singer Jenny Morris has announced that she will star in the film.
The plot of Thor: Love and Thunder
Thor 4 will begin up where the previous film left off with our favorite Asgardian. He’s gone on a galactic adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy, leaving Valkyrie as the King of Asgard. There’s not much to say about Thor: Love and Thunder’s plot, but we do know that Natalie Portman will reprise her role as the Mighty Thor. Jane Foster, with the support of Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, is battling cancer while simultaneously becoming a superhero in the comics.
Portman has stated that this plotline would be addressed in the film and that she will actually inherit the gods’ power. Like other Marvel films, this won’t be a direct adaptation, but it will undoubtedly be influenced by Jason Aaron’s Thor comic book run.
