It was only some time before Samsung started making their own wireless ear buds.
As previously announced, the Gear IconX is fitness based ear-buds and yes, they don’t have any wires attached. Whereas the new Gear Fit 2 is suitable more for health enthusiast- people who would wear it all the time – based on Samsung, the Iconx is mainly aimed at people who ‘’casually exercise’’. This is, individuals who make a deliberate decision about when they would like to be active and when they would like to receive activity data.
Priced at $199, the Samsung IconX is considered to be way cheaper than other types of wireless ear buds. They are going to be available in three different colours, white, blue, and black, in the third quarter of this year.
One of the main things that makes the IconX special is that it has an incorporated heart rate sensors to track the speed you are going at and the distance. Also, 4GB of internal storage enables you to store music for mobile free workouts. Connectivity with the health application lets you store you own music for free workouts. Connectivity with the S health application lets you view all of your track health information in one place.
Battery life is different. The IconX is going to last for three and a half hours if you’re listening to music saved on the ear buds themselves, but it decreases dramatically to 1.5 hours if you’re streaming the music using your phone.
The IconX earbuds look and definitely found good, but we’re going to have to put them to a more rigorous test (and exercise regimen) when they are available before we can judge if they are really worth it or not.
