Looks like Apple is all set to turnaround its ‘boring’ year.
Almost all of us were tired of Apple recycling its ideas and were hoping for some innovation that will give Apple device users much reason to cheer. And with the announcements made at Apple’s WWDC 2016, Apple users are happy and excited again!
The keynote began with a moment of silence for the victims of the Orlando shooting and then delved into specifics.
The ‘key’ point at Apple’s keynote was the introduction of iOS 10 to its users. You can read all about iOS 10 right here!
Coming back to the keynote, Apple announced quite a few things:
Watch OS 3
Apple Watch is all set to be blazing fast with a new control center and a dock feature. Scribble, a handwriting supporting app is another new feature to watch out for. Apart from that, there is also a SOS feature that is triggered when you hold the side button. The SOS feature will automatically dial the local emergency number in your region. Added to this are new health apps and a new Minnie Mouse watch face, all completely free!
TV OS
We all have hunted for hours for the ‘lost’ remote only to find it in plain sight. Well, with this update, there will be a new remote app just to put you out of your misery. Also, you can also sign in to access your cable provided channels with the single sign on mode!
Swift Playground
Feel like coding an app using Swift? Well, it is now child’s play because Apple has launched the Swift Playground, an app that helps everyone code in Swift. And you can code using just your iPad! What’s more, the app is actually intended for kids to learn coding and bring out their analytical skills. But for a coding newbie like me, it definitely is something I look forward to using!
Sierra – MacOS
Sierra is the newest name for the Mac’s latest OS and the main focus of Sierra is continuity. How, you ask us? Well, for once, you can unlock your Mac using an authenticated Apple Watch. Copied something on your iPhone that you want to reuse on your Mac? With Sierra’s Universal Clipboard, you can simply paste from the iPhone to the Mac. Apart from that, Sierra also has Apple Pay for desktop and Siri right at the desktop to make your life a lot easier!
Well, that’s the gist of it! Read all about our iOS 10 features here and let us know if you are as excited as we are about Apple’s newest updates!
