Avis rent a car has announced it’s integration with Amazon Alexa, Amazon’s intelligent personal assistant. This means that you can now rent an Avis car with just your voice through the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot devices.
A simple voice command like, “I need a car at Dubai International Airport at 10.30pm on Monday” is all the device needs to process your request. For now, customers can make bookings and manage their reservations. They can check current and past reservations and request for an e-receipt.
Avis rent a car is available in over 170 countries and is the first car rental to offer this type of booking service. In the UAE, Avis has branches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah and Fujairah.
According to the company, Avis has securely integrated with Alexa and stores all customer preferences in their Avis Preferred Profile. So a customer’s car preferences and their coverage (type of insurance they usually go for and so on) is stored securely on the platform.

It’s only a matter of time before other car rentals follow suit.
