ReFlex is the world’s first revolutionary flexible smartphone. What do I mean by flexible? You can actually bend the phone and experience tactile feedback while using it. Imagine taking your phone and trying to bend it. Who am I kidding, of course you can’t. The more you try to bend it the more it leans towards breaking. But with ReFlex, you can bend it all you want and it will perform actions according to how you bend it. For example, imagine reading a book on your smartphone. You will have to swipe the screen to go the next page. But with this flexible smartphone, you can bend the phone and turn the page, just like a real book. The more you bend, the more pages you turn. Want to play Angry Birds? Rather than touch your screen and pull the bird, you can bend your screen to how much farther you want to pull the bird and let it go! Gives you a real feel of playing the game.
So, does this mean you have to bend the flexible smartphone to make calls? Nah. For making calls, it just functions as a normal smartphone would: straight and unyielding. Apart from the flexible bending, it comes with the usual features of high definition screens and so on. This flexible smartphone hasn’t hit the market yet but its makers see a bright future for it in a couple of years.
*The ReFlex flexible smartphone was invented by a team at the Human Media Lab at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
