Rather than wait in queues for tickets to get access to parks around Dubai, we can soon use Nol cards to pay for parks’ entrance tickets.
“Public parks in Dubai are iconic entertainment avenues and attract more (and more) number of visitors each year.” – Mohammad Abdul Kareem Julfar, Assistant Director General for Corporate Support Sector of Dubai Municipality
For the first phase, the concept of using Nol card to pay for parks will be implemented for Al Mamzar park, Zabeel park, Mushrif park, and Creek park.
According to the agreement signed by Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, and Mohammad Abdul Kareem Julfar, Assistant Director General for Corporate Support Sector of Dubai Municipality, the RTA must also increase the machines that help recharge the Nol cards and make it more accessible to the public. Currently, the only places where you can recharge Nol cards are at the Metros, a few bus stations, or online. By making these charging kiosks more accessible, it promotes the usage of public transport among the residents of Dubai.
This agreement is the latest in line of Dubai being converted to a complete smart city in the near future.
